I don't think you have to worry... I highly doubt a keyboard change. I would love a little more key travel on the current MBP keyboard, but obviously they would have to make the MBP thicker - so I'll live ;)
I don't remember who said it (after reading over 200 posts!), but I agree that the MBP 15'' 1-3 day shipping vs the 17'' 5-7 (or was it 8-10) day shipping is merely due to lower stock on the 17'', not a sign of a 17'' only update. I would think they probably manufacture and sell at least 2X the number of 15'' vs 17'' MBP's.
Apple wants their Pro line to be visibly different at a glance. This has been true for years. I don't see that changing now. Based on that, I agree with you that it's unlikely they'd adopt an MB keyboard for the MBP. They certainly don't want people to think it's "just" a silver MB, after all!
I'd figure on the 15" sales being considerably higher than just double due to the 17" being considerably more expensive.
Of course, it's arguable they serve different markets with some overlap rather than being in direct competition...

mac -
i really wish we could have gotten there.
it seems so foreign now, but in a system where all is divisible by ten makes life very easy.
but, we'll keep using our libres and ounces and such...the imperial way.
meh.

I can see apple maybe putting an ARM chip in the macbook so it can run in low power tablet mode, but to complete replace the CPU really makes no sense. However lots that the do seldom makes sense, so who knows. The reason I won't be buying a mac again is simply because they are severly underpowered, gaming really sucks on them compared to what you can get on a PC.

So your attitude is "if I can't have it, I don't want anyone to have it."?
Whether it comes out or not, you won't be getting one. So why would it matter either way?
He was joking. lighten up.

Grey is the new grey at Apple it seems. The stark minimalism is starting to become an issue.
Noooo! Are they making everything gray on gray?!

If I am not mistaken the phone is Linux base which does mean Apple support from my knowledge of Linux pdas.

Interesting how the guy is a total dick when writing to Steve. Nice to see SJ keeps his cool when these idiots with a massive sense of entitlement choose to hit the send button.
Hes not acting like a dick, he's just worried because of what hes heard.
I know your email to Steve would begin with "Your Royal Appleness" and end with "Your faithful Man-Servant"
The man has heard his phone is tracking his location, and is naturally, entitled to be worried.

This (http://switchtoamac.com/site/apple-will-soon-announce-a-macbook-pro-revison-heres-why.html) an a good read on why we may see a MacBook Pro revision very soon.
Makes sense to me
Nice explanation with evidence on current and past updates. I'm now convinced that there will be a MacBook Pro update this year. Photokina sounds like the ideal venue.

Or when you reach an actually high math class you simply express division as a fraction.
Most of the time I do express them as a fraction but for something like this I would write it exactly as it was original shown. Why because / tells me it is a normal divide not a fraction.

Actually beasts! How do you know about those then?
I think the Dell 30 inch is still relatively higher PPI though right?

How would one do a "complete fresh reinstall" by this method? Or will we be able to burn to a disc/USB key?
I would hope that creating a bootable DVD/flash drive would be part of the installation process.
How is it handled now for developers with the Lion preview?

I dont understand why some people say the mac pro is for pro users only?when i wanted to buy a Mac i brought a Mac Pro because i didnt like the IMac because of the glossy screen and the way it is all in one unit if the screen packs up then bye bye mac, then i thought of the Mac Mini, that was a no because it doesnt have enough power...
Then i dont understand why some people have to say the mac pro is a old design ok so the out side hasnt changed much maybe a few things like an extra optical drive and different ports, but the inside has changed a lot compared to the older mac pros much more cleaner than befour...
I think it would be a shame to completely changed the design of the Mac Pro as it still is far much better than any PC design i have ever seen, maybe make the air holes smaller but thats all,i think the Mac Pro design still has a lot of life in it........I am not a pro user........

Of course you need to bring a mount - you need a mount either way. When I say "carry" I don't mean I keep it in a fanny pack 24/7. I mean I bring it with me when I travel. So let's count for the slow people...
Mount + Garmin + iPhone = 3 items
Mount + iPhone = 2 items
Gee - 2 is less than 3! Yay.
OK so for the slower people why would you separate the GPS unit and mount when it is being used on a day to day basis? The TomTom mounts are so slim and there is no other use for the unit so there is no point to separate the two for storage. The iPhone is mainly a phone and i would need to separate the two on a regular basis.

Given that Apple has always went for the mid market components I don't think this phone will appeal to the phone nerds/freaks like me. But then us being freaks don't represent much of the market.
Personally I would love to see Apple pair up with Sharp to do a phone.
Currently I would say sharp has the best high-end mobile on the market that isn't symbian/WMP. You can't bet a phone with a 3.2MP camera, 2x optical zoom and a 640X480 screen. It's a really pity that if Apple brings out anything it will be 1.3MP camera, no zoom and prob a 320x240 screen... but I guess at least it will look good...
Most of the really good mobile phones are restricted to Japan only so hopefully apple can bring some of the cool stuff around the world.

Interesting. I wonder if Apple offered Toyota something to get them to cancel their campaign. I don't have a problem with Apple giving them positive incentive to avoid the jailbreak scene; I pretty much see it as a competing market/ecosystem. However, I would be upset if strong arming tactics were used, ie; "remove it or else we'll wont let you make your car radios ios compatible."

Really, guys. How many times have we been through this?
As many times as "Apple is switching to Intel", I'd guess.
[...] Americans are used to getting free or cheap phones when they sign up for a carrier contract. [...] The way I understand it, the rest of the world pays full retail everytime they want a new phone. Is this right?
It's true in Canada, too. I went with a 3-years contract with Bell Mobility and my phone (a LG something) was free.

A note from a reseller posted on xlr8yourmac yesterday notes that ALL their MB/P orders were delayed until the 19th.
I do the ordering for Macs for my company, i ordered a 17" MBP for our new art director early sept and it arrived about a less than a week later. I ordered a new 15" MBP yesterday and the shipping date was Sept 20.
However, i just read this forum and cancelled the order thinking perhaps i rather not take the risk and wait for the new macbooks, hopefully they do come out on the 19th or 25th.
looking good boys. all of the pieces are fitting together now. delayed orders, resellers saying the same thing, BTO's taking much longer. i think it's finally gonna happen.
It does seem to finally be happening. I had been a little disheartened this past week or two with the lack of MPB update information/rumors on this site, but it looks like things are starting to go full steam. It's beginning to get exciting again (hopefully without the disappointment of past high hopes. :) )

(tried to cut and paste but it didn't work).
In a nutshell the ETA from manufacturer is past due (gee we already figured that out) and they have requested info from mfger and will send when they get it. long story short nothing yet so just wait and will let u know.
