Tatum was born in little town in Alabama, he is the oldest of eight children. Being energetic and quite problematic as a teen, and apart from video was invited to Miami to a fashion-show. His image was changed to more brutal and masculine, which played nicely with him, and Tatum went ahead in modeling though didn’t leave a dream about acting. He appeared in may magazines including ‘Vogue’ and moved to New York, where took part in a few commercials, after what in 2001 was included in top 50 the most beautiful faces in the world by ‘Tear Sheet Magazine’. Next years were Tatum decided then to become an actor, wanted to play heroes in adventures. But parents drove his energy in other way: to sports. It helped though – Tatum became interested in street dancing as well, and developed those skills along with taking any job like builder or vet assistant after leaving Glenville State College. Suddenly fortune smiled – Channing was taken to Ricky Martin’s video ‘She Bangs’. During the casting in Orlando he got noticed successful on the runway, but then in 2004 Tatum got a small role in «CSI: Miami» and a few other unnoticed parts in movies.
